Creative Visionary and Poet
I am one who... is anchored in creativity, heart-centered expression, and curiosity. Creativity was a central pillar in the evolution of Pine Manor. Lots of creative expression took place via Journaling, Visual Journals. Creative Writing, Sand Tray, SoulCollage®, and Journey Circles. These modalities provide ways to find and trust one's voice.
I am one who... introduced poetry into ongoing therapy retreats that Michael Sieck, Ph.D and I led for many years at Pine Manor. The poems provided a balance to the sometimes intense therapy process. Mark Nepo, poet and spiritual teacher led retreats at Pine Manor for a decade. Pine Manor began to marinate in poetry.
Around the time I turned 70 I was engaged in a personal spiritual inquiry. My main question was- what is sacred to me? and how do I voice what is sacred to me? Over many years of spiritual exploration, I found that my belief fields changed- sometimes eroded, sometimes plowed under, sometimes a new path emerged. In my personal silent retreats, I would allow space and time for questions. I wanted to invite what I might unwittingly reject. When I put my discoveries down on paper they flowed through as poems. Over time my inquiry expressed ways I was weaving myself awake, hence the title of my book--Weaving Myself Awake
